The Clothesline Project is a visual display of shirts with graphic messages and illustrations related to violence against women. The purpose of the Project is to increase awareness of the impact of violence against women, to celebrate a woman's strength to survive and to provide another avenue for her to courageously break the silence that often surrounds her experience.

Want to hear an orchestra performance made not of instruments, but the sounds of the life of rainforest?
"MENTAWAI — Listening to the Rainforest" is an experimental multimedia work joining electronic sound collage by Linda Burman-Hall using biologist Richard Tenaza's rare field recordings of threatened and endangered species with his photographic and her video images of their rain forest habitat. The piece features endangered primate vocalizations, birds and other environmental sounds from Indonesia's Mentawai Islands which lie in the tsunami zone more than 100 miles west of Sumatra.

I will be inviting residents from blg 1 to come over and decorate cupcakes for valentine's day. I will also be making apartment deliveries to those residents that can not attend the event.

Residents will be able to make and eat cake pops in celebration of St.Patricks Day. They will learn about the holiday as they make their delicious treats.

There will be 4 categories of youtube videos for participants to present: fail, inspiration, funny and misc.
each participant will come in with a video that they think best fits each category, which will be presented on a TV for everyone to see. At the end, everyone will vote on the best video for each category and the winner will get a prize specific to that category. the end!

I will be offering breakfast type foods at midnight for all of the residents in my building to take a study break, enjoy some food and play video games and just socialize.

Opportunity for resident to give suggestions for improvements for the following quarter and next year in the apartments and enjoy floats.

My beach clean-up program didn't work out well last quarter, so I'm going to do a beach clean-up on my own. We'll have a picnic on the beach and then use trash bags to pick up trash. It'll be a good community service/building bonding program.

Come make your own custom stencils and spray them onto paper, canvases, or items you bring!

A passive leading into this will explain the difference between stencils as an art form from using it for vandalism. This will also be provided as a handout at the program.

Outstanding stencils will be placed on a canvas, which will then be mounted for display at the C/M Community Room as part of the ongoing "Make It Yours" program.

We will be providing a fun and interactive "Sushi making session" where we will be using candy as the ingredients. Meanwhile, we will be giving some background on culture in Asia to tie in with the theme of the program.

This program will create a safe environment where residents can discuss topics related to sex. Ice cream will be provided to make this event more attractive to residents and we will be using SHOP's Sex Bingo worksheets to help get the students started talking about sex.

Judy Scott will be discussing her latest work on vocabulary learning and assessment: promoting vocabulary learning with elementary students, an innovative computer program for helping students access vocabulary word annotations “in the moment” as they read and a vocabulary assessment tool that is being tested with 4000 students across California.

She is also very involved in evaluating applications for admission to MA/Credential and Doctoral programs in the Education Department and can answer questions about becoming a teacher or a doctoral student.
